A photo is required for registration It does not have to be a professional headshot; a decent selfie will do. We want to be able to associate a name with a face.
Every individual must be registered separately. No "Family" registrations allowed.
We welcome all actors ages 8-99. If you turn 8 during the run, you may audition. There will only be a limited number of positions available for children under 18. Rehersal will begin on May 19th. We unbderstand this is the end of the school year, but ask that you do your best to be available.
Come prepared to audition. You will need to come prepared with a backing track. You can usually find them on YouTube by searching for the name of the song and karaoke.

1-2 Min Contrasting Monologue (Humorous/Dramatic)
Choreography will be taught at call backs.
No prior performance experience required.
Rehearsals will be Tue-Fri starting on May 19th. If you have a conflict, please note it below. If your conflict is after July 5th, you MUST get prior written permission from the director. We work hard to minimize rehearsal time and thus expect everyone to be there on their assigned dates, prepared to rehearse.
We strive to create a fun, low-stress audition experience because we have all stood on the other side of the table and know what it's like. No audition is ever a wasted experience. Casting decisions are made based on multiple factors, so never count yourself out!
As a program of the Salem Recreation Department, and to stayed aligned with other department programs, we charge a $20 participation fee for all participants. All participants will receive a tshirt and comp tickets to the show.

We welcome all musicians from Jr. High on up. There will only be a limited number of positions available for children under 18. Preference may be given to children with parents who are also selected, but it is not required.

Call backs will be on Saturday the 16th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
You will be provided the music after being cast and are expected to learn your part at home. Pit rehersals will begin mid-June. Date (TBA) You will be required to attend starting July 13th as you will be accompanying the cast. The orchestra will be on stage for the show. You will be in costume and performing for the entire show.
Come prepared to audition. You will need to come prepared with a piece of music in the style of Broadway. It can be a part written for your instrument or the melody.
No prior pit experience required.

Percussion 2 primarily plays trap drum set (Bass Drum, Snare Drum, 2 Rack Toms, Floor Tom and Cymbals: hi-hat, crash, ride, sizzle, splash, thin crash, and large); occasionally Sleigh Bells and Small Triangle.
Both players use Temple Blocks (5 blocks), Wood Block, Cow Bell and Trolley Bell (Bell Plate or Brake Drum).
